Two ZAGRO E-MAXI XL perform incessant shunting work in Japan

The Japanese KEIO Corporation relies on the flexible road/rail technology from ZAGRO Bahn- und Baumaschinen GmbH. The order placed by the railway company included the completion of two battery powered shunting vehicles ZAGRO E-MAXI XL. One of these new generation tractors was delivered in the current design.

The first vehicle maneuvers railway wagons in the maintenance facility of the Wakabadai Station on a track gauge of 1372 mm. The 12 tons heavy shunter is very well utilized when moving up to ten connected wagons. The operator can control the zero-emission shunting device via a radio remote control or the control panels in the air-conditioned cabin.

The second electric shunter is designed for the narrow track gauge of 1067 mm for pulling up to five railway wagons. Equipped with a comfortable driver's cab, the 10 tons heavy vehicle is in daily use at the Inspection Depot in Fujimigaoka. The operation is via intuitive radio remote control.

The railway company KEIO expressed their high degree of satisfaction: “Thank you very much for offering such good products!”

The ZAGRO team take this opportunity to thank their Japanese partners Y-Engineering Company Ltd. for the successful implementation of this project.
