GMEINDER LOKOMOTIVEN GmbH has delivered two new D75 BB shunting locomotives to LogServ. The locomotives were recently officially handed over to the factory railway operated by LogServ at the voestalpine site in Linz, where they are already in daily use as factory railway locomotives 1004.09 and 1004.10.
With 1,000 hp each and four powered axles, the two machines are optimally designed for the high demands of shunting operations on the connecting railway at the voestalpine site. Eight other locomotives of the same type have already been in successful operation at LogServ for several years – the two new vehicles now mark the next technological step.
Double traction implemented for the first time
A special technical highlight: the new D75 BB locomotives are equipped with the "double traction" function for the first time. This allows both locomotives to be operated in combination, which significantly simplifies operational procedures and considerably increases shunting performance.
The use of double traction (also in FFST operation) allows higher tonnages to be moved – even heavy ore trains can be shunted efficiently.
Tailor-made solution for industrial shunting
The delivery of the two D75 BB locomotives once again underlines GMEINDER LOKOMOTIVEN's expertise in the field of high-performance shunting locomotives for industrial applications. In close cooperation with LogServ, a solution was developed that is designed for reliability, efficiency and high availability in demanding industrial railway operations.
