The Finnish city of Tampere relies on the ZAGRO road rail Unimog U 423

ZAGRO Bahn- und Baumaschinen GmbH delivered a road rail Unimog to the Finnish Unimog Agency VEHO OY AB. The Unimog received a bogie-type rail guidance system for tight curve radii. This makes it possible to travel safely on the urban light rail lines. Currently, this Unimog is in use as a rental vehicle at Tampere Tramway Ltd.

The road rail vehicle is used for the towing of the newly delivered trams to the depot or serves for training the employees. Furthermore, the Unimog takes over the grinding of the rails with the Vossloh HSG City rail grinding unit. After commissioning of the Tampere light rail line, the entire network is processed once a month with the rail grinding uni. The preventive grinding of the rails ensures maximum service life of the rail infrastructure, lower noise pollution and higher comfort for passengers.

The Unimog moves on the rails at a maximum speed of 50 kph. Built-in cameras support the driver first during the on-tracking process and then in his daily work.
