ZWEIWEG has delivered a road/rail vehicle to the Bochum-Gelsenkirchener Straßenbahnen AG, for short BOGESTRA. The rail/road vehicle is based on a MAN TGM 18.320 4x2 and for use on the track gauges of 1,000 mm and 1,435 mm. The 2-axle road/rail vehicle has two driven single axles for the use on tracks with a curve radius of up to 17 meters and a gradient of up to 80 ‰. The vehicle is equipped with two powerful battery packs so that the platform and the rail driving system can also be operated electrically (Hybrid Drive). In order to be able to cover a very large area of work, the customer opted for a ZWEIWEG HUBMEISTER aerial platform HM 22 TKI with quadruple support. The truck disposes of a large cabin which has space for up to six people. The vehicle operates in the cities of Bochum, Witten and Gelsenkirchen and is used for assembly, inspection and maintenance work on the catenary.
