Baku International Sea Trade Port CJSC relies on the proven shunting technology from ZAGRO Bahn- und Baumaschinen GmbH. The scope of delivery includes two TERBERG/ZAGRO RR 283 of the latest design. The vehicles are equipped with SA3 couplings at the front and rear. They have a radio remote control.and are designed for use on tracks with a gauge of 1520 mm.
These new shunting tractors will replace the ageing locomotives that weigh 123 tonnes.
In December 2024, the new owners took delivery of their shunting vehicles. The ZAGRO training manager travelled to Baku to commission the tractors and provide comprehensive training to the shunting personnel and service technicians.
The port of Baku is an important commercial and logistical hub in Eurasia. Every day, many tonnes of goods are handled there. The new TERBERG/ZAGRO vehicles move up to 2400 tonnes of trailing load and take over shunting operations during ship unloading. They are also used to fill and remove wagons.
We are pleased with the successful completion of the project and wish the team safe manoeuvring.
