Over 900 million passengers use Vienna's local public rail transport every year – a task that demands smooth and efficient operation. To enable it to maintain the around 300 km track network even more reliably, the municipal operator has now been provided with an extra Unimog road-railer emergency vehicle. The successor to a Unimog U 416 that had been in service for over 30 years, the professional U 423 implement carrier will in future be responsible for shunting movements and repair services.
