In October, LogServ commissioned their new TERBERG/ZAGRO truck to manage the internal logistics at the voestalpine facilities in Linz. The vehicle is a tremendous help for the load handling. It can pull up to 25 railcars and is remote-controlled by the crane operators.
The customer had been looking for an alternative solution to replace its outdated shunting module viewing to more efficient unloading of the coal wagons in the area of the voestalpine plant harbor. It was ZAGRO who offered the appropriate shunting vehicle. Before the purchase decision was taken, the equipment was put to the acid test by means of a similar road rail vehicle which was operated at site during normal working conditions.
The test vehicle with its total weight of 29 tons convincingly mastered the tasks under the critical eyes of the experts. ZAGRO won the European tender. The truck can push and pull up to 2800 tons load and is the optimum solution to manage the shunting work in the plant harbor. It drives both on the road and on rails for quick and easy availability at the site of operation.
The three cranes managing the coal loading dispose of specific radio remote control modules. The crane operators activate the TERBERG/ZAGRO truck from their cabins. The shunting truck is equipped with a start stop automatic system to optimize the standing times. Additional cameras at the vehicle ensure the perfect overview for the crane operators with train driver license, when they move the truck by remote control.
