Nine Unimog implement carriers for MÁV (Magyar Államvasutak) Hungarian State Railways

On 14th September 2017, the Hungarian State Railways launched nine ZAGRO road/rail Unimog U 423. Wolfgang Zappel, managing director of ZAGRO Bahn- und Baumaschinen GmbH, handed over the vehicles together with Holger Doth, Daimler AG Special Trucks and Hungarian Unimog general agency Pappas Auto Magyarország at the Ferencvárosi station in Budapest.

The nine vehicles are provided identical with ZAGRO road/rail equipment. The hydraulically lowerable rail guidance system ensures safe tracking on the rail. In close cooperation with the involved partners the swap bodies were coordinated. The large amount of the swap bodies and their technically most demanding configuration represents the special feature of the vehicles. The universal Unimog implement carriers are used as shunting, repair and maintenance vehicles due to their flexibility and multifunctionality.

The road/rail Unimog are equipped with HIAB loading crane and loading platform, MULAG rear mower, KAHLBACHER snow cutter, DAMMANN spraying unit, VERSALIFT working basket, AUTECH grinding unit and STEMMANN-TECHNIK measuring pantograph.

The individual swap bodies can be changed in the shortest time, so that the vehicles are operated continuously and economically. Therefore planned track maintenance, fast troubleshooting or resuming of the rail operation are possible.

Various swap bodies allow repair of overhead lines, rail grinding, maintenance of green areas next to the rails, weed control or clearing of large snow heights in the winter.

Thanks to the perfect engineering work, the major contract was successfully completed, so we can look forward to the first positive feedback.
