ZAGRO road/rail Unimog for urban rail networks

At the InnoTrans trade fair in Berlin, a new-generation Unimog (Euro VI) with a double crew cab was handed over to the Magdeburger Verkehrsbetriebe. Birgit Münster-Rendel, Managing Director of MVB, received the symbolic vehicle key for the road/rail vehicle.

"Thanks to the very latest equipment and technology, the new Unimog will shorten work completion times while improving the working conditions of our employees," Birgit Münster-Rendel is pleased to say.

The Unimog with its technical aids and rerailing tools constitutes a compact rescue vehicle for operation on road and rails. This rescue vehicle is suitable for the precise and safe on-tracking of derailed railway cars. The Unimog with ZAGRO rail guidance equipment can tow the damaged light rail vehicle or car to the depot in order to make the tracks passable again.

The Unimog is equipped with the ZAGRO bogie guidance system, which enables the vehicle to run on the tracks of regional rail traffic, which often include a radius of less than 17 meters. The vehicle contains a double cabin with four additional seats. The tool compartment fabricated by GMEINDER LOKOMOTIVEN is made of GFK to save weight and offer additional load capacity.
