BASF continues to rely on the power of the ZAGRO road rail Unimog

ZAGRO delivered four high-performance shunting vehicles of Unimog U 423 series to the industrial company BASF in Ludwigshafen. The tractors are operated via radio remote control. In addition, one of them has a loading crane with basket and platform.

Upgraded with the ZAGRO rail guidance system, each Unimog becomes a fully operational rail vehicle. The quick change between road and rail mode allows the rapid transportation of the heavy tank wagons at BASF. The changeover time from road to rail is less than five minutes. Each rail axle is equipped with a camera as well as a separate lighting device for safe night operation.

As the new vehicles are covered by BOA approval, they are authorized to perform the shunting work on all BASF railway sidings.
