Road-rail vehicle ZAGRO Unimog U 423 for Wiener Linien

For the Wiener Linien GmbH & Co. KG, ZAGRO delivered the Unimog U 423 with road-rail system in cooperation with the Austrian Unimog general agency Pappas Auto GmbH. Through Pappas, we were able to deliver the fourth road-rail Unimog based on the current UGE model U 423 to Wiener Linien GmbH & Co. KG.

Wiener Linien GmbH & Co. KG is the municipal transport company of the federal capital Vienna and part of Wiener Stadtwerke GmbH. The Vienna tram network carries around 960 million passengers per year. It is considered the sixth largest tram network in the world. In addition, 39% of all journeys in Vienna are made by public transport.

To keep the network operational, support is therefore needed. The Mercedes-Benz Unimog U 423 vehicle with the ZAGRO road-rail system is ideally suited for this purpose. Especially with a route network of this size, a reliable and flexible vehicle is needed. The Unimog's road-rail system makes it easy to switch quickly between road and rail.

The latest Unimog U 423 for Wiener Linien has, among other things, a tipping body at the front of the vehicle as an additional equipment compartment as well as further equipment compartments at the rear. These are equipped with roller shutters and offer sufficient storage space for tools or materials needed for operations in the track area.
