GMEINDER LOKOMOTIVEN GmbH received the order for 5 work locomotives for Hamburger Hochbahn AG. The vehicles will be used in the Hamburg subway network to provide the construction sites and perform maintenance and repair work. They complement the locomotives type AL1 already supplied by GMEINDER in the 90s.
The AL2 are purely electrically driven locomotives with power supply via power rail and battery.
The first vehicle has already been delivered and is currently being put into operation in Hamburg. The other vehicles are under construction and commissioning in Mosbach.
