Soon there will be a new tram line in Denmark's capital Copenhagen. Currently, the light rail system is under construction. The opening is planned for 2025.
Siemens has been awarded a contract by Hovedstadens Letbane I/S, a development company for urban transport, to build the tram system. In addition to the completion of state-of-the-art four-car trams, Siemens is also responsible for workshop equipment, maintenance, and repair. It was in this context that the cooperation between Siemens and ZAGRO Bahn- und Baumaschinen GmbH started.
ZAGRO impressed with its manoeuvrable and flexible electric shunting vehicle ZAGRO E-MAXI M. The commissioning with the operator of the tram system and the first tests with the new tram in Copenhagen have been successfully completed. The trained team of employees from the local transport company Hovedstadens Letbane is already looking forward to the first use and the intuitive operation of their new electric shunter.
The ZAGRO E-MAXI M is battery-powered and powerful and is perfect for any shunting work in the depot. The small emission-free ZAGRO E-MAXI M masters the towing of the heavy tram through the depot or on the track in tight curve radii with flying colours. In addition to the BoStrab lighting and radio remote control, the electric shunter is equipped with the interlock system. This guarantees safe driving on the underfloor turning system.
