The DE60 C Hybrid locomotive was modernised from the GMEINDER DE500 C. It is a robust switch engine for heavy shunting operation. The electric power transmission with three independently controlled traction motors allows the optimal utilization of adhesion. Power is supplied by a diesel generator and a lithium-ion battery set. This allows the zero-emission operation in workshops. The installed power electronics are of modular design with standardised components for traction and auxiliary systems. This ensures the maximum availability of the locomotive. It is possible to modernise the diesel-electric locomotives made by other manufactures in the same way.
